SolidWorks Corporation opens new office in Brazil

Responding to increasing customer demand and a dynamic market for its 3D mechanical design software, SolidWorks Corporation opened a new office in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The office will help coordinate activities of authorized SolidWorks resellers serving more than 1,000 companies in the country and selling SolidWorks 3D mechanical design software, COSMOS design analysis software, and related solutions to help customers move better products more quickly to market. "This new office enables SolidWorks to get closer to our customers, who are growing in number every day, and will help us bring their businesses to the next level," said Jeff Ray, SolidWorks' chief operating officer. "The office also brings us closer to our authorized resellers by providing them with first-hand information, training, and support that will help them succeed. Key Brazilian customers include Fabrimar, Gerdau S.A., Jumil Máquinas Agrícolas S/A, Marcopolo, PETROBRAS, Romi, and WEG Indústrias S.A. Carlos Beato, new sales manager for Latin American operations, will head up the office. He brings more than 15 years of software sales success in Latin America and the United States to his new role. He will also take responsibility for Mexico operations and report to Jeff Ray.
