IEEE Vis 2004 Advanced Registration

Advanced registration for the IEEE Vis 2004 Conference is now open at this Website. The advanced registration deadline is 5:00pm EDT, September 10, 2004. After this date, registration will only be available at the conference site. The 15th International Conference on Visualization Innovations and Their Applications is being held in Austin, Texas, October 10-15, 2004. The topics include fundamental visualization algorithms and systems and their applications in various domains. Workshops and tutorials will be offered, as well as the presentation of papers selected for their outstanding research contributions and creative application. An exhibit of posters, demos, and exhibitions will be on display. Both the IEEE Symposium on Information Visualization 2004 (InfoVis) and the IEEE/SIGGRAPH Symposium on Volume Visualization and Graphics (VolVis) will be co-located with the Vis 2004 Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Austin. Keynote speak, Dr. Willson S. Geisler of The University of Texas at Austin, will present “The Human Visual System: How Is Its Design Related to the Physics of the Natural Environment?” This year for the first time, the conference will be holding a Visualization Contest. The contest was created to foster comparison of novel and established techniques, provide benchmarks for the community, and to create an exciting venue for discussion at the conference. The theme for the first IEEE Visualization Contest is “Visualization Fusion.” The contest is open to everyone (excluding the contest organizers and judges)—individuals or teams from academia, industry, or elsewhere. Students and student teams are highly encouraged to participate. For more information on the visualization contest, please visit http://www.cse.msstate.edu/~graphics/vis04contest/.
