GeneGo Adds Bristol-Myers Squibb to Customer Base

GeneGo, Inc., a leading systems biology company, today announced that Bristol-Myers Squibb has licensed its MetaCore data mining suite that combines analytical tools, data content and algorithms for understanding complex interconnected pathways that are affected in common human diseases. MetaCore(TM)'s manually curated content covers all levels of cellular functionality from GPCRs and other receptors to signal transduction cascades, transcriptional factors, core effector networks, endogenous and xenobiotics metabolism and the relevant chemical compounds (metabolites and xenobiotics). The main application of MetaCore(TM) is in visualization and analysis of complex experimental data including microarray gene expression, SAGE and SNP DNA sequences, proteomics and metabolites profiles. "BMS is the fifth major life science company which licensed MetaCore for internal development in recent months," said Tatiana Nikolskaya, Ph.D., President and CSO of GeneGo. "We are pleased that MetaCore's features, in particular its curated content and ability to integrate customer-generated data into the database, meet Bristol-Myers Squibb's expectations in systems biology."
