SGI to Define the Future of Supercomputing at CeBIT

Silicon Graphics today announced that Bob Bishop, chairman and CEO, will deliver a keynote presentation at this year's ICT World Forum @ CeBIT in Hannover, Germany, March 17-19, 2004. ICT World Forum is host to the world's leaders in Information and Communications Technologies and runs consecutively with the world's largest ICT event, CeBIT. In his presentation entitled "Supercomputing In The 21st Century", Bishop will share his insight into how scientists, engineers and designers gain strategic advantage from utilization of new high-performance computing technology. Bishop's presentation reinforces the message behind this year's CeBIT theme, "Achieving Business Profitability with Technology: Strategy and the High Performance Technology Business. "The ICT World Forum is proud to have Mr. Bob Bishop as a featured keynote speaker considering his extensive experience in the industry and the unique insight he will undoubtedly bring to this exclusive gathering," said Alexander Glos, ICT World Forum Executive Producer of the event. Bishop's keynote will take place on March 18, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Among the new high-performance computing technologies Bishop will discuss is a concept "multi-paradigm computing" which combines previously disparate computing architectures with global shared-memory technology. "SGI is a company entirely focused on the technical and creative markets," said Bob Bishop, chairman and CEO, SGI. "We are tasked with building real-time big-data machines to handle a tsunami of data generated by complex simulations and a landscape increasingly filled with digital sensors."
