Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT) has been awarded a nine-year contract worth approximately $700 million to provide a wide range of environmental, administrative and research systems engineering services to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency nationwide. The Information Technology Solutions - Environmental Systems Engineering (ITS-ESE) contract strengthens a long-standing partnership between the U.S. EPA and Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin has provided services to the agency for more than 25 years. Lockheed Martin is the Nation's leading IT provider to the federal government, and its client base extends to a number of agencies served by the EPA. Ms. Gooden's organization provides application, network and business solutions to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, Department of Defense healthcare agencies, and many others. The ITS-ESE contract was a single award covering five base years with additional options totaling four more years. As an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contracting vehicle, ITS-ESE will assign individual tasks supporting EPA's Headquarters Program Offices, Regions and other state and federal partners to Lockheed Martin and its teammates for the next nine years. Teammates include Oracle Consulting, DigitalNet, Concurrent Technologies, BearingPoint, InfoPro, Inc., Datastar, QuestAmerica, Apprimus, Cairo, SOLUTRON, Inc., Vistronix, Applied Geo Technologies, Beacon Technologies, Synergist Technology Group, Inc., US Government Consulting, XAware, Innovative Learning Solutions, Instaknow, and McDonald Bradley. Under the contract Lockheed Martin will perform systems development tasks in application security, IT architectural support, data management, statistical services, geographic information systems, high-performance computing and visualization, and scientific application and computational science support. The company plans to establish a National Environmental Information and Systems Engineering Center in Arlington, Va., which will serve as headquarters for the program. Four satellite centers will be strategically located in Raleigh, N.C.; Richland, Wash.; Stennis Space Center, Miss.; and Las Vegas, Nev. Additionally, Lockheed Martin will utilize 10 locations across the country for outreach to EPA Regions, states and federal partners.
