Voltaire today announced a high performance, standards-based, scalable InfiniBand solution for OracleR Database 10g for the Japanese market. Voltaire's partners, Hitachi High-Technologies Corporation (Hitachi-HT) and Hitachi Information Technology Co. Ltd. (Hitachi-IT) will distribute the solution which is designed for emerging enterprise grid computing. Hitachi System & Services, Ltd. (Hitachi-SAS) demonstrated the joint Voltaire and Oracle solution last month at OracleWorld in Tokyo, Japan. Voltaire's InfiniBand solution, which consists of both software and hardware, provides a high speed interconnect solution for Oracle Database 10g, the first database designed for emerging enterprise grid computing. In addition to improving performance and scalability, the joint solution brings simplicity to the data center by interconnecting Oracle Database 10g and shared storage through a single Voltaire InfiniBand switch router.
