Globus Alliance activities at SC03

Participants in the Globus Alliance (http://www.globus.org) will present a a wide range of SC03 tutorials, technical papers, and posters. The Globus Toolkit® includes components that are the fundamental enabling technologies for the Grid, and members of the alliance are among the principal architects of the Open Grid Services Architecture (OGSA). For a complete summary of Globus Alliance activities and materials for SC03, see http://www.globus.org/sc. Among many noteworthy activities will be a full-day tutorial whose popularity led SC03 organizers to schedule it twice. "How to Build a Grid Service Using Globus Toolkit 3.0 (GT3)" will be offered on Sunday and Monday, November 16 and 17. A special BoF, "Perspectives on the Globus Toolkit," will be held Thursday, November 20 at noon in room 19-20. Other scheduled highlights include: • Tutorials (http://www.globus.org/about/sc03/tutorials.asp) • Panels, BoFs and Grid2003 (http://www.globus.org/about/sc03/panels.asp) • Technical Papers (http://www.globus.org/about/sc03/papers.asp) • Posters (http://www.globus.org/about/sc03/sc_posters.asp) • Demos (http://www.isi.edu/~flon/sc03/demopreviews.htm) Running continually in the Argonne Mathematics and Computer Sciences Division booth #120, the demos will feature technologies such as GT3, OGSA-DAI, GrADS, GridFTP, SCEC (Southern California Earthquake Center), NEESgrid (part of the Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation), MPICH-G2, Earth Systems Grid, GriPhyN (Grid Physics Network), Community Scheduler Framework, NMI Portals, Condor, and Grid2003. In addition, Ian Foster and Carl Kesselman of the Globus Alliance will sign copies of the new updated edition of their book, The Grid 2.
