Industry's 1st Multi-Vendor NAS-SAN Gateway, the Auspex NSc3000, Shown At CIFTEE

SINGAPORE, Sept. 11 -- Auspex Systems, Inc., a provider of enterprise storage solutions, will be showcasing NSc3000, the industry's first multi-vendor SAN- to-NAS gateway, in the China International Exhibition at Financial Banking Technology & Equipment 2002 (CIFTEE), in Beijing, China, September 15 to 18, 2002. This showcase will be available for review at the Hitachi booth (No. 408). Available since April 2002, the NSc3000 enables enterprises with SAN equipment from virtually any vendor to access and share files via Network Attached Storage (NAS) protocols without investing in a traditional NAS appliance, even if the organization has a heterogeneous SAN with storage subsystems from different platforms. The Auspex storage controller can serve as a bridge between IP-based clients and SANs, offering a far more efficient storage model that will eliminate the need for system administrators to choose between NAS and SAN topologies. As data storage becomes increasingly complex in today's demanding enterprise computing environment, the Auspex NSc3000 promises to provide a simpler and less expensive management of data assets. The launch of Auspex NSc3000 has seen considerable interest in the industry. The storage controller was successfully installed this July into Singapore's Data Storage Institute (DSI)'s existing SAN infrastructure, consisting of two Hitachi Data Systems HDS9910 and Brocade switches. The NAS- SAN storage environment is now available for research purposes and in new technical courses on network storage technology. Tom Garofalo, Vice President & General Manager, Auspex Asia Pacific, said, "Industry interest in NSc3000 in Asia Pacific has been very encouraging. I am confident that this storage controller, which epitomizes Auspex's vision of presenting simpler and cost-effective storage alternatives to the industry, will be of relevance to large enterprises in China."
