In addition to his nearly 15 years at Sun, he has held senior positions at top computing companies, including Data General and Apollo. "Netezza has a world-class management team, top-tier venture funding and a powerful value proposition for companies that want to get more business value out of the data they are collecting," said Ed Zander. "I'm looking forward to helping Jit and his team capitalize on a growing need for real-time information and build a market-leading organization." In March, Netezza announced that it completed a round of financing from top-tier venture capitalist firms totaling $20 million, bringing the Company's total funding to more than $28 million. Netezza has created a purpose-built platform that runs ad hoc and complex tera-scale queries in a fraction of the time of existing solutions, delivering fast and affordable BI to Fortune 1000 companies. Mr. Zander joins David Schantz, Matrix Partners; Ted Dintersmith, Charles River Ventures; and Ollie Curme, Battery Ventures, as well as Netezza co-founders Jit Saxena and Foster Hinshaw, on the Board. Netezza's breakthrough platform enables agile and affordable business intelligence (BI) at tera-scale. The company's patent-pending, purpose-built BI platform dramatically increases the real-time intelligence that can be obtained from data and reduces the costs associated with current BI solutions. Founded in 2000 and based in Framingham, Mass., Netezza is led by an experienced management team from several leading technology companies.
