Hitachi Announces Quadrasis, New Line of Unified Security Products, Services

WALTHAM, MA -- Fraud, hacking and other security breaches cost businesses billions of dollars every year, according to industry analysts. Recent events have made the security of corporate information more critical than ever. IT departments are expected to prevent theft and damage through a variety of incompatible security technologies, while, at the same time, reducing costs and bringing new electronic business initiatives on line. The business requirement to open up back-end systems and data to outsiders increases the complexity of the problem. In response, the Software Solutions Division of Hitachi Computer Products (America), Inc., today announced the Quadrasis line of security products and services. These products and services help organizations unify their security technologies end-to-end across their distributed enterprises. Unified security not only creates more secure environments, but also allows organizations to respond more nimbly to business challenges and significantly reduce implementation and administration costs. "Our work requires us to collaborate closely with a number of other companies," says Tammy Blaser, Senior Software Engineer for NASA Glenn Research Center. "A key requirement for us is the ability to share information with them securely, even across their various architectures." "Enterprises increasingly need flexible mechanisms to secure their distributed applications and data," agrees Robert Freund, senior vice president in charge of the Quadrasis line. "Today, a new framework for Enterprise Application Security Integration, or EASI, is emerging to help ensure that the distributed enterprise is protected and that even federations of organizations can safely engage in new distributed and collaborative business models." Quadrasis software and services are based on an EASI framework that enables organizations to use best-of-breed security technologies for integrated Single Sign-On, Authorization, Encryption, Accountability and Administration. The EASI framework makes it much easier to integrate security technologies and implement complex security policies. These policies determine who has access to information across the enterprise as well as in collaborations, marketplaces and exchanges. Quadrasis software brings centralized security management to the distributed enterprise. In addition, Quadrasis security experts can assist organizations in designing and implementing secure e-business initiatives. Quadrasis Professional Services help companies achieve their business objectives while minimizing time-to-market, cost and risk. Current and recent clients include large enterprises in the financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and aerospace industries. "We engage at any stage of the project lifecycle, from development of a security assessment and strategy to meet business requirements, through architectural design, to full implementation and deployment," says Harriet Goldman, Vice President of Quadrasis Professional Services. "With our proven analysis and design methodology, we develop security architectures and integration frameworks that create secure distributed e-business solutions across multiple lines of business with fine-grained levels of access. Our deep experience with leading security products and extensive work in integrating e-business components enable us to leverage existing technology investments and develop seamless enterprise solutions that no single product vendor can offer." Quadrasis product and services offerings will be introduced at the Computer Security Institute 28th annual conference and exhibition in Washington, DC, October 29-31.
