eDream creates tribute to creation of land grant universities

Staff from eDream (the Illinois Emerging Digital Research and Education in Arts Media Institute) and the University of Illinois' Office of Public Engagement teamed up to produce a video commemorating the 147th anniversary of the Morrill Land Grant Act, which gave states land to build schools like the University of Illinois.

eDreamers Donna Cox, Jeff Carpenter, Kelly Searsmith, and Madelin Woods put together the video with images gathered by Allison Kelly from the Office of Public Engagement.

"The goal was to create a video that incorporates the history and legacy of land grant institutes and what they will mean in the future," said Carpenter.

DVDs of the video will be sent to those who attended the Morrill Act Reception on Oct. 23, which was part of the two-day Lincoln Bicentennial National Conference. The video can also be viewed online.
