Paremus becomes Full Member of OSGi Alliance

Paremus announced today that it has become a Full Member of the OSGi Alliance.

“We have been an Adopter Associate of the OSGi Alliance since 2006 and contributed to RFPs in this capacity. Given the rapidly escalating commercial interest in our distributed OSGi runtime, the Paremus Service Fabric, we felt it an appropriate time to upgrade our membership.” said Richard Nicholson, Founder and CEO, Paremus.

Stan Moyer, President of the OSGi Alliance, commentedWe welcome Paremus' continued participation in the OSGi Alliance and look forward to even greater levels of contribution with this new level of membership. Paremus has been on the leading edge in its use of OSGi technology and we believe that their experience and feedback will be valuable to the Alliance."

The Paremus Service Fabric was the first distributed OSGi runtime when released in 2006, and to this day remains the only commercial available OSGi runtime that offers distribution for OSGi-based applications and general artifacts across multiple JVM’s. This early adoption, by Paremus, of OSGi for use in an enterprise context, has led to Paremus accumulating extensive experience in the benefits and challenges of using OSGi in this domain.

“The Alliances’ stewardship of the specifications and openness to the community has resulted in a mature, elegant, functional, and widely adopted, industry standard for Java modularization that benefits software vendors and users alike” added Nicholson, “We are very pleased to join as a Full Member and hope that our experience will enable us to contribute to the excellent ongoing work of the OSGi Enterprise Expert Group.”
