Pliant Technology Announces VP of Sales
Storage and Server Industry Veteran to Drive Market Development and Sales Effort for New Enterprise Flash Drives: Pliant Technology, developer of Enterprise Flash Drives (EFDs), a new class of high-performance solid state storage devices for the enterprise, today announced the appointment of Eric Shiroke as vice president of sales. With nearly twenty years of executive and senior-level sales experience in the storage, server and HPC industries, Shiroke will establish and lead Pliant’s global sales operations and market development activities. “Eric has extensive experience driving high-impact IT sales programs, and he is the ideal individual to help us generate broad awareness of and interest in our EFD solutions,” said Amyl Ahola, Pliant’s CEO. “Eric’s track record of strong, consistent sales growth, coupled with his deep understanding of enterprise storage and systems industries and his technical acumen, will be instrumental in Pliant’s success, and I am delighted that he has joined our team.” Prior to joining Pliant, Shiroke served as director and general manager for the Professional Products Division of PNY Technologies. At PNY Technologies, Shiroke was responsible for all aspects of the professional products division, penetrating new markets, and consistently growing revenue. Before PNY Technologies, Shiroke was vice president and general manager of the Americas Operations at Elsa Inc., a $1.5 billion company, and previously, Shiroke held management positions at Silicon Graphics, VARstreet.com, Iomega Corporation, and Micropolis Corporation. He holds a Masters in Business Administration from Duquesne University.
