INTERCONNECTS
Christie Chosen For U.S. Air Force
Christie will provide the visual displays for two complete state-of-the-art simulators for the United States Air Force. Each installation will feature 10 Christie Matrix 3000 projectors with next generation SXGA+ DLP display technology; onboard ChristieNET for remote networking, management and maintenance of the projectors; and Christie's ChristieTWIST image warping and enhanced edge-blending technology. The cutting-edge trainer simulators are expected to reduce in-flight instruction time by up to thirty-three percent. The trainer-simulators, which provide realistic control feedback and sophisticated auditory and visual cues, will replace earlier models that are more than twenty years old and lack advanced sensory capabilities. The installations are part of Christie's innovative TotalVIEW simulation display solutions offering sophisticated, application-specific solutions, screens, structures, ChristieNET networking, and display integration. Installation to accommodate system integration and testing will commence January 2006. After this period, the systems will be re-installed and certified at the designated training center starting summer 2006. "Christie provides unique, customized visual display solutions for flight simulation, ship-bridge simulators, mission training and tactical scenarios. Our wide-ranging expertise is based on solid industry immersion that reflects Christie's customer-driven TotalVIEW approach to every project," said David Fluegeman, Vice President, Visual Environments.
