Scali Software is Partner-Proven for HP's LC Series Clusters
The total solution offers a highly affordable and performance optimized HPC Linux-clustering platform Oslo, Norway - December 15, 2003 - Scali, a leader in high performance clustering solutions, announced today it is certifying the latest release of Scali ManageT and Scali MPI ConnectT for HP's ProLiant DL140 server running Linux. The approved solution can be used immediately in custom HPTC Linux clusters based on HP's LC Series cluster building blocks running 10/100 Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet and Myrinet® 2000 interconnects. The integrated offering is designed to address the needs of academic and commercial organizations that require HPC Linux clusters at the lowest possible cost and in a minimum amount of time and space. Scali's unique platform and interconnect agnostic software enables customers to leverage a single software solution independent of the server nodes and interconnect technology they select. Customers benefit from a total Linux solution that dramatically simplifies cluster environments while maintaining performance and service levels at a reduced cost. "We are excited that our software is partner-proven for the HP ProLiant DL140 servers as it offers customers a price competitive alternative for its HPC clusters. The industry is increasingly demanding the flexibility to design and build systems that meet its price performance requirements," says Bjorn Skare, President and CEO of Scali. "By standardizing cluster platforms on Scali Manage and Scali MPI Connect, customers can be live on powerful computing clusters without the complexity and cost of alternative solutions." "The HP/Scali relationship is very successful across both our ProLiant line and Integrity server lines, and we are delighted that Scali continues to invest in HP as a partner," said Bruce Toal, HPTC Director of Marketing, HP. "Scali software running Linux on HP's industry-standard platforms enables customers to simplify their clustering stacks while maintaining the flexibility and performance they need for High Performance Computing." The recently announced server is an affordable 1U, dual processor platform equipped with the essential, industry-standard server performance features optimized for High Performance Computing environments. The ProLiant DL140 and ProLiant DL360 servers are deployed as compute nodes on the LC 2000 and soon to be available LC 1000 Series clusters. The HP ProLiant DL380 is offered as a cluster management control node in both the 2000 and 1000 Series. The HP LC Series is delivered as 16, 32, 64, or 128 node cluster configurations with optional hardware, software, and services integrated, installed, tested in the factory and shipped turn key to the customer.
