IBM announced it is gaining revenue and increasing shipments for servers worldwide, according to a report on the third quarter that was just released by Gartner Dataquest. IBM now commands 32 percent of the global server market increasing revenue by 4.7 percent year to year{1}. IBM was the fastest growing UNIX vendor in the industry increasing revenue 5 percent and gaining 2.2 points of marketshare. In Intel servers, IBM was the fastest growing vendor in terms of shipments, gaining 1.6 points of marketshare compared to the same quarter last year.
