Ciprico's New High Performance Storage Solution Highlighted at Siggraph

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Ciprico (Nasdaq:CPCI) today announced their 2 Gb storage solution, the FibreSTORE 2210, will be featured in Square USA's exhibit at the Siggraph show. Ciprico's FibreSTORE 2210 provides 400 MB/sec. per enclosure, doubling the data delivery speed of today's typical disk array. This technology meets the demands of a multitude of applications and is particularly suited for film animation, content creation, film scanning and HDTV playback. Square USA, a production company located in Honolulu, has utilized Ciprico storage as the base of the creative technology in their computer graphics and animation for motion picture production. Their outstanding display of animation technology at the show includes high speed, HDTV playback of movie trailers for the recently released "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" running from Ciprico's FibreSTORE 2210. Ciprico is reportedly the first to bring a true 2 Gb solution to the entertainment and digital broadcast industry. Denser, faster and more reliable, a single FibreSTORE 2210 array provides over 1.5 TB of content storage. The sustained 400 MB/sec. performance delivers real-time playback for a wide range of content resolutions, from D1 at 20 MB/sec. all the way to the 380 MB/sec. demanded of 2K film resolution. The latest member of Ciprico's FibreSTORE family, the FibreSTORE 2210 meets the performance requirements for video servers and streaming applications where guaranteed delivery of visual data without exception is critical. "This high bandwidth product allows users to move their large data files twice as fast, which is critical to post-production applications." notes Dennis Pederson, Ciprico's Entertainment and Media Market Manager. In addition to the excitement of the FibreSTORE 2210 in the Square USA exhibit, Ciprico's exhibit will showcase additional storage hardware, software and services for the digital image industry. This includes the Ciprico NETarray RAID storage working in conjunction with Nothing Real's Tremor(TM), providing maximum cost/performance of HD (High definition) compositing and uncompressed, real-time playback on an NT platform. Processing content for Kaleidoscope and Toy Box, Ciprico's proven 7000 Series of Fibre Channel-compatible RAID disk arrays are scalable to the highest sustained, real-time playback performance of 2Kfilm resolution.
