QLogic Gains Fibre Channel Adapter Market Share During First Half 2009, Strengthens Leadership Position

New Report from Dell'Oro Group Confirms QLogic is Broadening its Lead in Fibre Channel Adapter Market

After closing out 2008 with its fifth consecutive year of market share leadership, QLogic Corp. (Nasdaq:QLGC), a leading supplier of high performance network infrastructure solutions, today announced that it completed the first half of 2009 with an expanded market share lead in storage area network (SAN) Fibre Channel adapters, according to the latest data published by the Dell'Oro Group in its Q2 2009 SAN Report.

For the first half of calendar year 2009, QLogic increased its revenue share for Fibre Channel adapters to 55.2 percent, an improvement of 1.9 percentage points over the full year 2008 share. During the same time period, QLogic's nearest competitor in Fibre Channel adapters dropped its share below 38 percent.

During the second quarter of 2009, QLogic widened its lead over the nearest competitor in the fastest growing segment, 8Gb Fibre Channel adapters, by achieving 53 percent market share. During this period, QLogic gained nearly three percentage points on a sequential basis while its nearest competitor lost nearly two percentage points.
