NextIO Brings Enterprise-Level Agility and Investment Protection to the Top of Rack

NextIO to demonstrate network and storage bandwidth-on-demand for VMware servers at VMworld 2009

NextIO today announced it will demonstrate its next-generation Top of Rack architecture featuring the flexibility and agility of enterprise-class modular chassis integrated into the NextIO Top of Rack PCI Express appliance.  The demonstrations will take place at VMworld 2009, August 31-September 3, booth #2438 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.

To showcase the serviceability of its low-cost Top of Rack architecture that’s easy to deploy and manage, NextIO will demonstrate “Bandwidth-on-Demand” for VMware hosts.  NextIO will conduct performance upgrades by adding Intel 10Gb I/O in the NextIO appliance without impacting the LAN fabric or operating servers.

NextIO will also demonstrate the performance benefits of pooling and sharing Top of Rack SSD storage against standard disk drives.  In each case, network and storage bandwidth can be added to VMware servers while existing services are running, allowing systems administrators to add pooled resources and new I/O technologies on the fly.
