Tehuti Networks Joins VMware Community Source Program
Tehuti Networks expands relationship with VMware by providing 10GbE NICs that combine support for VMware Infrastructure with performance enhancing techniques: Tehuti Networks, a semiconductor company providing 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) single-chip, low-power TCP/IP acceleration controllers, today announced it has joined the VMware Community Source program. The co-development effort as a VMware Community Source program member allows Tehuti Networks to create and validate enhancements to VMware ESX Server to maximize the performance and functionality of Tehuti Networks' series of Ethernet controllers and adapters in the VMware Infrastructure environment.
The VMware Community Source program is designed to accelerate the creation of a rich variety of products that integrate with and leverage VMware ESX Server. Additionally, with the VMware Community Source program, customers may expect to see enhanced interoperability between VMware products and third-party vendor solutions. As a VMware Community Source program member, Tehuti is planning on working closely with VMware on optimizing Tehuti 10GbE dual-port controllers for VMware Infrastructure 3, enabling unique adapter capabilities, and collaborating with the partner community on future I/O virtualization techniques. “Tehuti Networks realized early on that a close relationship with VMware was essential to our success,” said Blaine Kohl, vice president of marketing, Tehuti Networks. “Through the VMware Community Source program, Tehuti Networks has access to the technical resources and support critical for successfully enabling our 10GbE products for VMware virtualization end users.” “High-performance networking is a critical requirement for scalable and agile virtual infrastructure,” said Bernie Mills, senior director, developer programs at VMware. “Through the VMware Community Source program, we are working with several innovative companies on the vanguard of I/O virtualization and we welcome Tehuti Networks as a Community Source program member.”
