Juniper Networks Achieves #2 Position in High-End Routing Market
Juniper Networks today announced that it has moved into the #2 market share position for high-end enterprise routers according to Synergy Research Group's Q3 2005 Router Equipment Market Shares report. Juniper Networks was counted for the first time in the High-End Enterprise Router segment by Synergy with 25% market share. "Juniper Networks has made a significant leap into the High-End Enterprise Routing market with its M7i and M10i Multiservice Routers," said Ray Mota, chief research officer for Synergy Research Group. "The continuous growth of IP services has resulted in more dynamic IP traffic traversing today's enterprise networks. Therefore, more organizations are turning to Juniper for increased security, performance, and scalability through their new line of enterprise routing platforms." The Juniper Networks M7i and M10i platforms are an ideal enterprise routing solution for head offices, campuses and corporate backbones requiring reliable, secure and high performance IP WAN connectivity, Internet access and services. Unlike legacy routers which have monolithic architectures and aging operating systems, the M7i and M10i multiservice routers utilize a hardware-based architecture and JUNOS, a modern object oriented operating system. This architecture ensures rich packet processing with uncompromising forwarding performance to support latency sensitive applications such as voice, video, and other mission critical applications. Together with the J-series, the complete portfolio of Juniper Networks enterprise routing products allow customers to consolidate multiple services onto a single IP/MPLS network while delivering performance, reliability and security to the enterprise environment. Synergy Research Group's market share methodology for this report is built upon four primary cornerstones that include a survey process, a total market measurement model, technically-based market segmentation, and Synergy's designed SQL database. Combined, these cornerstones represent the foundation from which Synergy Research Group builds its market statistics.
