Lane15 & Prisa Networks Partner on Unified Network Management Tool
AUSTIN, TX -- Lane15 Software, a leading developer of InfiniBand(TM)(1) management software, and Prisa Networks, an independent OEM supplier of network management software for System and Storage Area Networks (SANs), today announced a partnership to develop a multi-fabric network management software solution. Integrating Lane15's Fabric Manager with Prisa's VisualSAN(TM) Network Manager using XML technology will allow IT managers to control multiple fabrics using one common network management interface. Lane15's Fabric Manager will manage InfiniBand fabrics and allow VisualSAN to tune the environments. VisualSAN Network Manager automatically discovers, manages, and monitors multi-vendor SAN devices, including switches, hubs, routers, host bus adapters, and storage systems. It automatically generates a graphical topology map depicting the SAN network elements, servers, storage systems, and their interconnects. Lane15's Fabric Manager gives IT managers the control to efficiently administer and manage large, complex server environments. Additionally, Lane15's Fabric Manager supports XML and delivers an intuitive, easy-to-use management console for network-wide InfiniBand administration. "At the recent IBTA Developers' Conference, we demonstrated VisualSAN with the Lane15 Fabric Manager," said Alisa Nessler, president and CEO of Lane15 Software. "The integration of our two products enables system administrators to easily manage large, high-performance fabrics that span both InfiniBand and Fibre Channel." "The data center of tomorrow will look very different from today. It will grow in both size and complexity, encompassing multiple heterogeneous Fibre Channel and InfiniBand fabrics," said Rael Morris, vice president of Marketing of Prisa Networks. "VisualSAN's strong integration with Lane15's Fabric Manager was enabled through powerful interface architectures in both companies' products, and will allow for a much easier deployment of InfiniBand."
