BLADE Network Technologies to Present at ISC'08

BLADE Network Technologies Inc. (BLADE) announced that it will be exhibiting at booth D06 and participating in two forums at the International Supercomputing Conference (ISC '08), Europe's premier high performance computing (HPC) event. This year's conference is 17-20 June in Dresden, Germany. The two presentations by BLADE will provide insight on the use of 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and will introduce the concept of Rackonomics - a better, greener and more economical way to scale network bandwidth for consolidated rack/blade server/storage environments: High Performance Computing (HPC) in 2008: 10GbE and InfiniBand Go Head-to-Head. Patrice Duffort, Director of HPC Sales, EMEA, BLADE Network Technologies. 3:00pm-3:30pm, Wednesday, 18 June, Exhibitor Forum Session 2, Conference Room 3, Level 4. Ten Gigabit Ethernet is set for a major breakthrough within the next year. Today's HPC environments can achieve low-latency and high bandwidth using 10 Gigabit Ethernet networking. Additionally, the HPC data center can dramatically lower power consumption through greater server utilization and more energy-efficient components, reduce floor space requirements with dense blade server and IP SAN form factors, and eliminate the hidden bottlenecks of virtualized workloads using 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Attendees will see competitive benchmarks results from well-known HPC applications and learn how successful 10 Gigabit Ethernet deployments were achieved. Rackonomics of Building New Data Centers. Charles Ferland, Vice President of Sales, EMEA, BLADE Network Technologies. 3:30pm-4:00pm, Wednesday, 18 June, Exhibitor Forum Session 2, Conference Room 3, Level 4. In modern data center architecture, Rackonomics refers to the concept of rack-level provisioning -- designing, deploying and replicating server/compute systems, data networks and storage area networks (SANs) rack by rack to decrease the total cost of ownership of data center infrastructures, reduce IT complexity, and equip massive scale-out environments. Attendees will learn how to leverage Rackonomics for scale-out data center infrastructures that achieve greater return on investment and increased business flexibility.
