CACI Awarded Contracts with Office of the Secretary of Defense

CACI International announced today that it has been awarded two new prime, one-year contracts, valued at a total of $19.8 million, to provide managed network services for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Both contracts were awarded under the General Services Administration Information Technology Schedule. The first contract is a $15.2 million award to support two OSD offices, or components, and provide overall OSD enterprise architecture support; the second is a $4.6 million award to support four other OSD components. The contracts support OSD transformation initiatives to consolidate information technology services, and will standardize services for classified and unclassified networks that include systems directly supporting homeland security and the war on terrorism. The awards increase the size and scope of the work CACI currently performs for the OSD and expand the company's managed network services area of business. The OSD is the principal staff element of the Secretary of Defense in the exercise of policy development, planning, resource management, fiscal, and program evaluation responsibilities. It includes 17 separate components, each with differing information technology contracts and levels of support. CACI's team has provided network support to individual OSD components under previous contracts, and brings proven processes and a comprehensive understanding to the new contracts. This combination of functional and technical expertise assures the OSD of effective standardization and integration across six components and 7,000 users. CACI's role includes support for networks that range in function from business management to homeland security, disaster recovery, and the war on terrorism. According to Paul Cofoni, CACI's President of U.S. Operations, "CACI is committed to supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense in its important mission. We offer client knowledge and technical expertise to assist the OSD in reducing cost and improving productivity, while ensuring the modernization and standardization of its information technology support and vital network services." Dr. J.P. (Jack) London, CACI Chairman, President, and CEO, said, "CACI solutions are firmly focused on our government's operational and security goals, including the transformation of business processes and support for homeland security and the global war on terrorism. The expansion of our business with the Office of the Secretary of Defense also confirms the success of our business strategy, as we continue to anticipate client needs and respond with effective, high-quality solutions."
