The MathWorks Receives Henry Ford Technology Award

NATICK, Mass. -- The MathWorks today announced that its Model-Based Calibration Toolbox has received Ford Motor Company's Henry Ford Technology Award (HFTA). Ford's UK-based Powertrain CAE team was honored with the prestigious award for the development of its new Model-Based Calibration (MBC) technology for calibrating complex powertrains, which was created using The MathWorks Model-Based Calibration Toolbox. Over a five-year period, The MathWorks worked with the Ford Powertrain CAE team at its Research and Development Center to develop the MBC technology, which is embodied in the Model-Based Calibration Toolbox. The MBC methodology has quickly become a standard for complex powertrain system calibration, not only within product development at Ford, but with other major companies within the automotive industry. The Henry Ford Technology Award is the highest honor bestowed by Ford to its employees in recognition of their exceptional technical contributions. Ford Motor Company established the HFTA as part of an effort to provide greater management attention to, and recognition of, exceptional technical contributions by employees. The award distinguishes MBC for the major contributions the new technology is making to productivity improvements throughout Ford's business worldwide.
