transtec restructures its operations in Switzerland and Austria

transtec has restructured its operations in Switzerland and Austria. Effective immediately, the company's Austrian and Swiss subsidiaries will be merged into one organisational entity. Peter Eichenberger, who previously ran transtec's operations in Switzerland will head the new unit and will also take charge of operations in Austria. The former head of the Austrian subsidiary Manfred Schwarzbier has tendered his resignation. The restructuring will permit transtec to consolidate its resources in both countries, allowing a better focus on sales. In the future the Zurich office will be responsible for overall administration. transtec is optimistic that its Austrian market will benefit from these moves. Eichenberger takes a deciedely positive view of the prospects in both countries, saying, "We already see a moderate improvement over last year." He sees a high potential in the storage and clustering areas. While many firms have plans to cut back on investments in these areas, these plans are being implemented only gradually. On the other hand, there has been a good deal of progress made in both storage and clustering, resulting in potentially high savings to customers with a corresponding incentive to invest. transtec's competence centres for clustering and storage solutions make it well positioned to offer customers individual solutions.
