ESRI Signs Multinational Enterprise Agreement With OMV

ESRI, the world's leading developer of geographic information system (GIS) software, announces that it has signed a Multinational Enterprise (MNE) agreement with Österreichische Mineralölverwaltung Aktiengesellschaft (OMV), an Austrian-based corporation and the leading oil and gas company in Central and Eastern Europe. OMV has approximately 6,200 employees operating in 28 countries and is committed to establishing ESRI's GIS technology as the standard throughout its entire organization. The management at OMV believes that standardizing with ESRI GIS technology will enable data consolidation, facilitate data and information exchange between its various offices, and provide a better overview of the organization across all the countries in which it operates. OMV exploration and production is using ESRI's ArcSDE software to integrate spatial data into a single geodatabase from various systems and distribute that information throughout the organization. ArcGIS software is used as a front end to its system and uses standard metadata, symbology, and geodatabase structure. OMV is planning to use ESRI's ArcIMS software to deliver the data via the Internet to its offices worldwide, which will provide a single point of access and standardized mapping of all significant assets.
