SGI today announced a reseller agreement with ViewSonic Corp., a worldwide visual display products leader. SGI will offer the ViewSonic(TM) VP2290b, a 9.2 mega pixel display with awe-inspiring depth and clarity, for use with two new, highly advanced Silicon Graphics(R) high-performance computer systems. SGI's agreement with ViewSonic follows the groundbreaking release of two affordable visual compute systems, the Silicon Graphics(R) Onyx4(TM) UltimateVision(TM), the world's largest and most powerful advanced visualization system, and the Silicon Graphics(R) Tezro(TM) visual workstation, a powerhouse system that sets a new bar for performance and reliability. When coupled with the extraordinarily detailed widescreen ViewSonic display, the Onyx4 and the Tezro rackmount configuration will greatly benefit numerous SGI customers in government and defense, sciences, manufacturing, energy and media industries. The purely digital interface produces artifact-free, photo-realistic images with vivid HDTV quality colors.
