Eontec Achieves IBM Advanced Clusterproven Verification for e-Banking Platform
CHARLOTTE, NC -- Eontec, a leading provider of Enterprise Java Bean(TM) (EJB)(TM)-based multi-channel banking software, today announced the achievement of Advanced ClusterProven verification for the IBM eServer pSeries platform. The verification process tested the performance and recovery functionality of BankFrame(TM), Eontec's e-Banking platform, using clustered IBM eServers. Results demonstrated the resilience of BankFrame and EJB technology for mission critical applications in a production environment, meeting the demands for continuous uptime across a bank's multiple touch points. The testing, undertaken at IBM's Solutions Business Partner Center in Waltham, Mass., illustrated that BankFrame assures high systems availability and high quality transaction throughput on the IBM eServer pSeries platform, AIX(a) operating system, IBM WebSphere(a) e-infrastructure software and various server configurations ranging from small UNIX clusters to large SMP environments. The testing also demonstrated that BankFrame has the scalability to support High Availability Cluster Multi-Processing (HACMP) for banking applications. As John Randles, CTO of Eontec, commented, "If a bank's delivery channel is down, customers can easily be lost. HACMP running on high performance clustered pSeries UNIX servers for IBM provides the performance required to serve customers 24x7. We now have results to demonstrate that BankFrame and HACMP are an excellent combination." Eontec works with IBM, including IBM Global Services, for implementations and delivery. The company has worked closely with IBM over the past two years to provide the seamless integration of BankFrame with IBM hardware and middleware demanded by the world's tier one financial institutions. "Third party validation from IBM is one of the many seals of approval that banks expect from applications that require high availability and high transaction throughput," said Randles. "The ClusterProven standard demonstrates that BankFrame combined with IBM clustered pSeries eServers can be trusted in critical development and transaction environments. The combination of BankFrame's repository of reusable banking processes, multi-channel architecture and automated tools with IBM's world leading high performance hardware and middleware architectures is powerful. With our combined technology, specialist knowledge and expertise in the financial services arena, we are well placed to help solve the IT development problems of large financial institutions and continue to move Java into mainstream banking applications."
