ESnet and Internet2 Joint Techs Workshop
Workshop Plenary Sessions Netcast for Worldwide Viewing; Workshop Held In Conjunction with Techs In Paradise 2008 Event: The ESnet Site Coordinating Committee (ESCC)/Internet2 Joint Techs Workshop will hold their annual winter session next week in Honolulu, HI. Hosted by the University of Hawaii, the four-day conference brings together thought leaders in the research and education community to explore and discuss important technology issues and the latest advancements in next-generation networking. The main plenary sessions held from January 21 – 23 will be netcast for worldwide viewing. For access to live streams, additional information, as well as archived sessions, visit its Web site. Since 1998 the Joint Techs Workshop has drawn together advanced networking engineers and featured tutorials, presentations, Birds-of-a-Feather meetings, in-depth technical sessions and demonstrations of state-of-the-art high-performance networking technologies. Presentations next week will cover the new high-performance nationwide Internet2 Network, the new ESnet4 network, future Internet architectures, optical networking, advanced wireless networks, dynamic circuit networking and control plane technologies, IPv6 deployment, network measurement and performance, and network security. The 2008 Hawaii Joint Techs Workshop is part of the third Techs In Paradise (TIP) event co-sponsored internationally to bring together the North American and Asia-Pacific Advanced Network (APAN) community for a week of meetings, workshops, and in-person collaboration. In addition to the APAN Meeting and Joint Techs, TIP2008 will also include meetings of the Internet Educational Equal Access Foundation (IEEAF), the Global Lambda Integrated Facility (GLIF), TransPAC2 and the Hawaii Intranet Consortium, as well as a Network Performance Workshop and a Dynamic Circuit Network Workshop.
