Voltaire Introduces Starter Kit for Rapid Deployment of InfiniBand in HPC

BEDFORD, MA and LAS VEGAS -- Voltaire, a leader in intelligent connectivity for high performance InfiniBand solutions, today announced that it has named Peter Waxman vice president of sales. Waxman was previously vice president of business development and sales at an InfiniBand start-up, Paceline Systems. Voltaire also announced the availability of an HPC starter kit for customers and resellers to rapidly and easily deploy InfiniBand clusters in High Performance Computing (HPC) environments. The 12 port non-blocking solution comes with all necessary components including a non-blocking switch, software and host channel adapters (HCAs). Voltaire is exhibiting its products in Booth # 6345 at the Networld + Interop 2003 show held this week in Las Vegas. "The market for Voltaire solutions, particularly within the HPC market, is ramping up and customers are beginning to deploy," said Ronnie Kenneth, chairman and CEO, Voltaire. As vice president of sales for Voltaire, Waxman will be chartered with selling Voltaire's solutions into the market and devising and executing a channel strategy, a role he also played at Paceline. While at Paceline he was responsible for securing beta tests at several large customer sites. Prior to joining Paceline, Peter was vice president of sales at Epicon, a supplier of Internet software to service providers that was acquired by Nortel in 2000. Waxman also spent 11 years in a variety of management positions at Wang Laboratories. The Voltaire HPC starter-kit follows the successful introduction in March of Voltaire's complete suite of products for the HPC marketplace.
