ANSYS Announces Availability of Integration Tools for LMS Virtual.Lab

CANONSBURG, Pa., -- ANSYS Inc. a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced the availability of an ANSYS(R) interface for LMS Virtual.Lab, the flagship product for LMS International's functional performance engineering. The interface provides tight integration between LMS Virtual.Lab and the newly released ANSYS 7.0. The interface for LMS Virtual.Lab and ANSYS provides users with an active, associative link between Virtual.Lab and ANSYS for all linear structural analysis. Virtual.Lab users not only will be able to access ANSYS modeling and results data, they now will be able to make ANSYS an integral part of a Virtual.Lab-supported engineering process. By implementing Virtual.Lab, users also have the ability to automatically set up ANSYS solutions and drive the ANSYS solver. "In today's highly competitive environment, new products with clear brand values have become the lifeblood of every industry, and the product development process has become the focus of competitive advantage," said Hans Wynendaele, corporate vice president and general manager of the CAE Division at LMS International. "The combination of ANSYS' widely used structural solver with LMS' functional performance engineering applications for motion, noise, vibration and durability will enable thousands of manufacturers to significantly streamline their process and deliver winning products to the market faster than ever." The ANSYS Interface enables automatic updates, eliminates time-consuming, error-prone data transfers and significantly increases overall customer productivity. "LMS has the ability to bring the strengths of real-world testing to bear on virtual prototyping," said Mike Wheeler, vice president and general manager of the Mechanical Business Unit at ANSYS. "The integration of ANSYS with LMS Virtual.Lab delivers this unique capability to some of the most competitive customers and markets in the world. Many of our top-tier customers are pleased to learn about this relationship we are initiating with LMS."
