PRACE to establish a Scientific Steering Committee
PRACE, the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe, holds a workshop on April 20, 2010, at Forschungszentrum Jülich to establish its Scientific Steering Committee (SSC).
The establishment of the SSC is an important step in creating the new Europe-wide Research Infrastructure for HPC (High Performance Computing).Professor Richard Kenway of the University of Edinburgh chairs the workshop. He invited around 40 leading computational scientists from across Europe, and spanning all the major HPC application areas, to assist the PRACE Management Board by nominating the 20 members of the SSC. The SSC will advise PRACE on how best to exploit the PRACE facilities to maximise the benefits to European science.
