• Under the International Congress "The New Generation In Strongly Correlated Electron Systems", organized by CESGA, USC, Los Alamos National Laboratory University of California ea.

Today, there will be an informative conference on the latest discoveries in the field of physics of strongly correlated electron systems in the framework of the International Congress "The New Generation Strongly Correlated Electron Systems in ", being held at the University of Santiago de Compostela. The conference is attended by 60 researchers from over 20 nationalities and will take place between 3 and July 8 in the new building of the "Singular Research Center for Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials" (CIQUS), which me were part of the Coming of the USC Campus. 

The morning conference will take the form of a colloquium open to non-scientists, by Julien Bobroff, Laboratoire CRISMAT, France, and will focus on the 100th anniversary of the discovery of superconductivity, one of the circles of Physics systems that are experiencing tremendous activity by the latest discoveries in this field. A good opportunity for journalists and science writers to know for a fact further developments in this field and how it affects technology and industry. 

The conference is organized around the four circles that come from living an explosion of research activity in recent years because we are the coincidence of several key events: the discovery of insulating materials topolóxicos; superconductividade the discovery of high temperature iron-based compounds; astounding progress in the production of heterostructures composed of oxides, and the ability to isolate individual graphene planes and incorporating them as electronic components. 

This gathering of new researchers is organized by the researcher CESGA Ivan Gonzalez, in collaboration with Professor Department of Physical Chemistry at USC and member of CIQUS Rivadulla Francisco, Victor Pardo (University of California) and Cristian Batista (Los Alamos National Lab), and is funded? European Science Foundation? and? Ministry of Science and Innovation?. 

The congress aims to bring together emerging scholars in the field of physics of strongly correlated electron systems and promote collaboration between them in a relaxed atmosphere. Attendees submitted more than 50 scientific contributions, including more than 30 research talks.
