Doug O'Shaughnessy to Lead Xiotech's Global Services Organization
Xiotech Corporation announced the appointment of Doug O'Shaughnessy as vice president of services. In this role, O'Shaughnessy will be charged with overseeing delivery of all services and the strategic direction of the services organization. He will report to Xiotech Chief Operating Officer George Symons.
O'Shaughnessy joins Xiotech just as the company has announced general availability for its award-winning Hybrid ISE storage system -- a platform that has experienced the fastest product ramp in company history. Combining HDDs and SSDs in a high-performance, capacity-rich storage pool, Hybrid ISE cost-effectively addresses the demands of IOPS-intensive enterprise applications including virtualization and VDI, database, data mining and big data analytics. Notably, Hybrid ISE features Xiotech's revolutionary, application-aware Continuous Adaptive Data Placement technology, providing price/performance/capacity ratios that are unmatched in the storage market.
"With the tremendous traction we've enjoyed with ISE, and now Hybrid ISE, delivering high-quality service to those current -- and future -- customers is paramount. Doug will be instrumental in ensuring our ever-expanding global user base receives the world-class service they deserve -- and have come to expect -- from Xiotech," said Xiotech President and CEO Alan Atkinson. "We welcome Doug's arrival and look forward to his contributions as we look to further penetrate the global marketplace with a hybrid solution that offers unrivaled performance and value."
"I am thrilled to join Xiotech's deep, dynamic management team during a time of incredible opportunity for the company -- and Hybrid ISE," said O'Shaughnessy. "I am energized by the challenge of leading and evolving Xiotech's global services organization and helping the company continue to deliver storage solutions that are renowned not just for performance, reliability and scalability, but by an unprecedented 5-year warranty and world-class support that have become company hallmarks."
A seasoned services industry executive, O'Shaughnessy brings more than 20 years of experience to Xiotech, most recently serving as a partner at Connexion Point MVS (USA), which was acquired by DecisionOne. Prior to this, he was vice president of customer service at EMC Software Group/Legato Systems. O'Shaughnessy also has held several service delivery and management roles, including director of Amdahl Corporation's global service center.
