R1Soft Introduces High-Performance CDP Server Backup Solution To Growing Asian Hosting Market
R1Soft will demonstrate its Continuous Data Protection (CDP) 3.0 line of backup software to the Asian market for the first time at the inaugural WorldHostingDays Asia (WHD.asia) event. WHD.asia will take place June 9 and June 10 in Bangkok, Thailand and is expected to draw more than 600 attendees from across the continent.
CDP 3.0 is R1Soft’s latest generation of high-performance server backup software. It is designed to address the number one performance challenge posed by backups – disk I/O. To increase server performance and reduce storage requirements, CDP employs R1Soft’s asynchronous replication technology; after the initial CDP replica, CDP efficiently reads and replicates changes to data at the block-level. As a result, CDP backups complete in significantly less time, with minimal impact to performance.
“Market trends suggest that the hosting and data center industry in Asia will continue to grow, which means that providers will continue to face challenges related to rapid data growth. At the same time, increased competition and reduced tolerance for data loss put additional pressure on providers” explained David Wartell, vice president of R1Soft, a division of BBS Technologies. “Implementing a trusted and robust backup service, such as R1Soft CDP, can help a provider overcome these challenges while also providing a boost to business. CDP not only adds efficiency and reliability to the host’s services, but can also be used as a platform to build additional service offerings.”
To address the needs of different hosting providers, R1Soft offers its CDP 3.0 backup technology in three different product editions: Enterprise, Advanced, and Standard. All three are easy to implement and incorporate the latest in disk-based storage technologies in the form of an industrial strength Disk Safe repository, made to protect archived data from corruption caused by crashes and power loss.
In addition to its demonstrations on the exhibit floor, R1Soft will host a session on Friday, June 10 to help providers better understand and respond to the challenges that they face. After a review of the pain points caused by server backup, the presentation will focus on the different backup options available today. It will also offer attendees insight into R1Soft’s three CDP 3.0 products and the ways in which different hosting providers can best leverage each.
