Searchlight Solutions Subsidiary Linux Labs Expands HPC Cloud Services to Include Proprietary Secure Storage Application

Searchlight Solutions Ltd has recently completed development for the prototype of their cloud based secure storage solution which is a component of the Linux Labs Indigo file system.

Referred to as a haystack model is an analogy to finding the needle in a haystack. Essentially, when a block of data is stored in the system, it is given a name based on the hash value of the data. It can only be retrieved again if you know that 256 bit key. It is so difficult to guess a valid hash value without being the person who stored the data, there is little point in using a password or other authentication as those could be more easily guessed than the hash names. In addition, a guessed password would allow access to all of a particular account's data.

Upon completion this development will give Linux Labs competitive advantages in the Cloud Storage arena because the efficiency of data handling is substantially increased when login data is handled in this manner.

Per recent findings of the technology research firm Gartner Inc., the global cloud service market is expected to grow substantially with revenue expected to reach $148.8 billion by 2014.
