FCIA Elects Vixel's Tom Hammond-Doel to Board of Directors
BOTHELL, WA -- Vixel Corporation (Nasdaq:VIXL) today announced that Tom Hammond-Doel, director of technical marketing at Vixel, has been elected to the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) board of directors, as secretary and treasurer. Effective immediately, Hammond-Doel joins 11 other industry veterans serving as board members for the 2001-2002 year. Hammond-Doel has been active in the storage industry since 1994 and has nearly 25 years of high-tech engineering experience. As an FCIA board member, Hammond-Doel will serve on the SANmark committee, a program that provides objective indication of how Fibre Channel products perform against specific standards. Hammond-Doel will also serve as chairman of the marketing committee, spearheading the FCIA's mission of promoting the acceptance and implementation of Fibre Channel technology and applications. "The FCIA has made significant progress in the promotion and development of Fibre Channel interoperability and open standards within the storage community," said Tom Hammond-Doel, director of technical marketing for Vixel.
