Fujitsu to Sell DataCore’s SANsymphony Product

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Fujitsu Limited and DataCore(TM) Software Corporation today announced they have entered into a global strategic alliance in storage management. Under the terms of this agreement, Fujitsu will sell DataCore's SANsymphony(TM) product on an OEM basis as part of the Fujitsu SystemWalker(TM) integrated systems management solution beginning at the end of 2001. Through its virtual storage capabilities, SANsymphony provides an overall storage management system (for security management, dynamic storage allocation to servers, etc.) that operates independently of any particular hardware in Storage Area Network (SAN) environments. This enables flexible and highly available operation of SAN attached storage resources, including Fujitsu's GR700 series RAID system. Fujitsu's U.S.-based data storage management subsidiary, Fujitsu Software Technology Corporation, is currently marketing the DataCore solution in its Softek Virtualization product in North America and Europe. This new agreement extends the DataCore and Fujitsu relationship worldwide. "Fujitsu is dedicated to supporting our clients' businesses globally in the broadband Internet age. This agreement allows us to provide leading-edge storage management solutions worldwide in order to support huge increases in data flow via broadband Internet," said Junji Maeyama, Senior Vice President of Fujitsu Limited. "This alliance with DataCore, following on the establishment of Fujitsu Software Technology Corporation, clearly enhances Fujitsu's storage management capabilities." "With its open embrace of software-based storage networking solutions, Fujitsu has committed itself to the most advanced storage architecture possible. They are the first of the world's leading computer vendors to take this bold step," said Ziya A. Aral, Chairman of DataCore Software Corporation. "DataCore is honored to play a fundamental role in this far-seeing vision and looks forward to a prosperous and lasting relationship with Fujitsu."
