FREMONT, CA -- Versant Corporation (Nasdaq: VSNT), a leading provider of object management and middleware infrastructure solutions, today announced the availability of Versant Developer Suite 6.0.1 (VDS 6.0.1). This latest release, Versant's sixth generation object database management system, offers performance and scalability enhancements, new ease-of-use features and introduces the Versant High Availability Backup Solution integrated with EMC's enterprise level Symmetrix(R) information storage systems and software. Through the EMC E-Infostructure(TM) Developers Program, Versant has integrated with EMC's Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems and EMC TimeFinder(TM) software to allow mutual Versant and EMC customers to backup and restore very large data volumes quickly without jeopardizing data integrity or performance.
