Headway Software Releases Beta Version of Pure Java Source Code Viz Tool

DENVER, CO -- Headway Software's recent launch of Headway reView 2.4--the source code visualization tool for Java and C++ developments--is followed by today's beta release of the pure Java version of Headway reView with initial support for Windows, Solaris and Linux. Headway Software's beta release allows more developers than ever before to visualize, analyze, understand and improve software developments. Headway reView is the first visual tool to intelligently show all dependencies at all levels and between all levels in software developments including application, package, class, method and data members. In less than 30 minutes, users can surf their code visually with no added training and without departures from current practices or processes. "Most of our developers use Linux as their primary development platform so we are delighted with today's announcement of Headway reView's support for Linux. Flightgear (www.flightgear.org) is an example of a large and complex project, and Headway reView is a great tool for visualizing and understanding the overall structure and hierarchy of our project," said Curtis Olson, Program Manager. "The largest C++ and Java projects are most often developed and deployed on Unix, with Solaris clearly leading the way. Headway reView's ROI increases with the size of the project. Solaris is the obvious next step for Headway reView," said Brendan O'Reilly, Headway Software CEO. "One of the primary targets for our new products, Headway reView Publisher and Headway freeView - released today - is the Open Source community," said Paul Hickey, VP Partners, Headway Software. "With our goal to make Headway freeView the Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) Reader(R) for source code and source code documentation, it's only natural to also release on Linux."
