(Nasdaq:EMLX), a leading supplier of storage networking host bus adapters (HBAs), today announced that Hitachi Data Systems has certified the Emulex LP8000S SBus host bus adapter for use in its Freedom SAN enterprise solutions. Hitachi's Freedom SAN solutions, based on the Hitachi Freedom Storage Lightning 9900 Series, provide an end-to-end storage solution, ensuring continuous data availability, fault tolerance and scalable architecture. The Emulex LP8000S SBus host bus adapter is optimized for Sun Microsystems' servers and provides the flexibility and broad interoperability to enable connectivity between SBus servers and highly scalable enterprise SANs. The Emulex LP8000S also features sophisticated hardware that provides superior performance in switched fabrics, delivering low latency and high throughput. In addition, Emulex's market-leading PCI-based LP8000 is certified for use with Hitachi's Freedom SAN solutions in Windows NT, Windows 2000 and AIX environments.
