Netherlands National Aerospace Lab Installs Dot Hill's SANnet Storage System
CARLSBAD, CA -- Dot Hill Systems Corp. (NYSE: HIL), a leading supplier of carrier-class data storage and storage area network (SAN) solutions, announces the selection of SANnet(TM) by the National
Aerospace Laboratory NLR, the Netherlands. NLR is an independent non-profit
research institute that carries out contract research for national and
international customers in the aerospace industry. According to industry
analyst firm, IDC, Western Europe is the second largest region worldwide for
disk storage systems, which is estimated to reach $10.8 billion in 2001. "We selected Dot Hill's SANnet because of its price, scalability and
performance," said Dr. G.J. Dekker, Head of Operational Services. "Our
projects at NLR produce and require a huge amount of information and we expect
to double capacity every year. SANnet's scalability will allow us to expand
our storage incrementally as needed with virtually zero downtime. We are
using our SANnet storage solution with both the IRIX and Windows operating
systems. This flexibility and interoperability has been very effective for
us." "Dot Hill is very pleased to have been selected by the prestigious
National Aerospace Laboratory NLR. We were up against several other storage
vendors and were able to demonstrate to NLR that SANnet's scalability and
performance are superior," said Hans Wagener, sales manager for Dot Hill's
Netherlands-based European headquarters. "In addition, the ease with which
NLR is able to use our SANnet with multiple operating systems was a key factor
in their selection of Dot Hill." For additional information visit www.dothill.com
