Dell Announces Factory Installation of Red Hat Linux 7.1
AUSTIN, TX -- Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) today announced immediate availability of factory-installed Red Hat Linux 7.1 on its entire line of Dell PowerEdge(tm) servers and select Dell Precision(tm) workstations. Based on version 2.4 of the open source-developed kernel, Red Hat Linux 7.1 features improved Symmetric Multiprocessor (SMP) support -- optimized for machines with up to eight processors -- enabling Linux to scale effectively on enterprise-class architectures.
