SANgate Systems Adds Vice President of Manufacturing to Jumpstart Production

SOUTHBOROUGH, MA -- Systems, innovators of the first Enterprise Storage Appliance, today named David A. Westall II as Vice President of Manufacturing. Westall brings more than 25 years of high-technology experience to SANgate. In his new role, Westall will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies for manufacturing, purchasing, and materials as SANgate moves from prototype to the production of their flagship product. "David's extensive background in bootstrapping manufacturing operations is an invaluable resource for SANgate as we gear up for production of the first Enterprise Storage Appliance," said Paul Feresten, President and Chief Operating Officer of SANgate Systems. "His proven leadership in building a successful manufacturing team in a start-up environment will be critical to our product launch." Prior to SANgate, Westall served as the Vice President of Operations at Northchurch Communications (now part of Alcatel) developing state-of-the-art carrier-class edge service routers. While at Northchurch, Westall created the supply chain for prototype through pilot production runs of the 7420ESR router, negotiated material costs, and built the quality assurance and manufacturing team. Westall also served as Vice President and Director of Manufacturing at Olicom, previously known as CrossComm Corporation, an international Internetworking company. There, Westall was responsible for growing the manufacturing operation from start-up to $50 million in revenue over a five year period. Additionally, Westall has held manufacturing management positions at Distron Corporation and International Navigation Corporation. SANgate Systems is developing a groundbreaking Enterprise Storage Appliance that supports both open systems and mainframe storage environments. By implementing the SANgate solution, customers can dramatically decrease I/O response times, lower total cost of ownership and streamline their data management process. These pioneering products break down proprietary lines and enable seamless relationships between any two storage subsystems, any vendor and any model. By supporting both open systems and mainframe environments with features such as remote mirroring, point-in-time copies and data migration, this unique and powerful hardware/software combination solves major interoperability issues found in today's Enterprise storage environments.
