Crossbeam and RTEC Form Joint Venture to Deliver Security Solutions in Russia and CIS

Crossbeam Systems and Russian Telecom Equipment Company announced the creation of a joint venture to deliver security solutions in Russia and in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

The new joint venture – Crossbeam RT – offers high-performance security platforms that will enable customers to protect their networks with best-in-class security applications and meet the stringent requirements mandated by Russian and regional CIS governments for highly reliable and secure telecommunications. Crossbeam RT customers will benefit from the scalability, flexibility and built-in redundancy of Crossbeam’s X-Series platform to intelligently secure data traffic as threats and network demands change.

“We take the best global technologies and adapt them to the requirements of the Russian market,” said Alexey Aleshin, chairman of RTEC Board of Directors and first deputy general director of Russian Technologies State Corporation. “The Crossbeam RT venture enables us to deliver industry-leading, high-performance security that not only supports our mission to develop state-of-the-art IT and telecommunications infrastructure, but it also underscores our commitment to driving innovation and economic growth throughout Russia and CIS.”

Crossbeam’s X-Series family of open network security platforms consolidates and virtualizes the delivery of multiple best-in-class security applications – from partners including Actiance, Check Point, McAfee, IBM, Imperva, Sophos and Sourcefire – on a single high-performance chassis. This allows customers to easily manage, provision and scale their security as requirements evolve. Today, more than 900 global enterprises, mobile operators and service providers, including 11 of the top 12 carriers, rely on Crossbeam for security services delivery.

“The certification of Crossbeam RT in accordance with Russian legislation is a core part of our strategy to ensure that we can deliver the best local and foreign technologies on the market,” added Robert Agee, senior vice president of RTEC. “Now customers will have more options for deploying world-class security solutions on their networks.”

“The creation of Crossbeam RT is an important step forward in strengthening our position in the Russian market, with a partner who can provide the highest standards for the production, certification and support of our security platforms,” said Mike Ruffolo, president and CEO of Crossbeam. “There is a strong growth opportunity as the need for fast and secure communications continues to be a top priority for IT organizations.”
