BILLERICA, MA – Bull Infrastructure & Systems today announced the availability of its S@N.IT!(TM) SAN management tool for both AIX(R) environments and Microsoft(R) Windows(R), demonstrating its continuing commitment to open, standards-based infrastructures. S@N.IT!, is aimed at customers wishing to combine their requirement for data integrity with simple, centralized, vendor-independent storage management. S@N.IT! is a user-friendly, highly cost-effective SAN management solution developed by Bull using Java(TM). S@N.IT! offers a fully integrated set of SAN management features that enable customers rapidly to consolidate their data safely and cost-effectively. This client / server application enables customers to: - Obtain a global view of all their SAN resources (auto-discovery of SAN topology and devices) with clear indication of their operational status - Manage concurrent accesses to disk subsystems - SAN resource sharing and allocation, centralized LUN (Logical unit number) access control - Define user and administrator roles - Activate the specific management tools for particular subsystems Bull has extended this innovative software to the PowerPC processor-based Escala PL server. Now available for Windows NT, Windows 2000 and AIX environments, this offer is perfectly suited to SAN architectures serving mixed Intel IA-32 and PowerPC platforms with storage subsystems and tools from multiple vendors.
