Latisys Teams with Allied Telecom to Deliver “On-Net” Data Center Infrastructure Services in DC Region
Latisys has announced a new strategic relationship with Allied Telecom. Allied will interconnect its Optical Transport Network for virtually unlimited bandwidth, scalability and high-performance with Latisys’ high-density data center campus in Ashburn.
Allied Telecom, the DC-based operator and one of the region’s fastest broadband networks, is a single-source provider of Internet, Metro Ethernet transport and Voice services for organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast Corridor. Allied Telecom recently built a new 110-mile fiber ring to enhance the existing network infrastructure and connect to regional cloud computing centers at rates of over 400 Gbps. To ensure mission critical services could be provisioned to customers in excellence, Allied turned to Latisys for its secure, robust, flexible and scalable IT infrastructure.
“With one of the premier Tier III data center campuses in Northern Virginia, and a national footprint of high-density data centers, Latisys is uniquely positioned as a trusted partner to deliver unmatched scalability and multi-site redundancy to our enterprise customers,” said Oscar Williams, Regional VP of Business Development, Allied Telecom. “Pairing our high speed connectivity with Latisys’ infrastructure brings a compelling response to the growing cloud demand in our market.”
Latisys’ 140,200 square foot Ashburn, Virginia data center campus – recently outfitted with an additional 14 megawatts of power and 26,000 square feet of new, available raised floor space – is a key component of Allied Telecom’s fully redundant ring of interconnected data centers. The Latisys Ashburn facility delivers high-density (HD) data center colocation power, fiber rich network connectivity to domestic and international networks, managed hosting and managed services, including enterprise-class security, disaster recovery and storage.
“Allied Telecom shares our commitment to delivering an outstanding customer experience, and this new relationship will further establish Allied as one of the region’s fastest, most expansive, and reliable broadband networks,” said David Haskell, Washington, DC Regional Sales Director, Latisys. “We are pleased to have a leading regional carrier relying on Latisys for their IT infrastructure needs.”
Latisys continues to see consistent and growing demand among industry-leading organizations – ranging from Fortune 500 firms and mid-sized organizations to government agencies – for its managed hosting, high density colocation and disaster recovery services. Customers are also turning to Latisys for IT infrastructure outsourcing (ITO) services that adapt to evolving enterprise customer requirements, whether they want to off-site, off-load or optimize their IT infrastructure.
