NextIO Introduces the vCORE Express 2090 GPU Computing Solution
NextIO has announced general availability of the vCORE Express 2090 GPU computing solution, based on the new NVIDIA Tesla M2090 GPUs. The NextIO vCORE Express 2090 enables customers to run GPUs outside of their servers providing more dense server configurations, easier lifecycle management and a lower overall cost of ownership.
The NextIO vCORE Express 2090 is a high-performance computing server solution designed for the most demanding HPC applications. Servers powered by the vCORE Express 2090 deliver up to 10x higher application performance than the latest multi-core CPUs. The vCORE Express 2090 is the ideal solution for real-world applications such as seismic processing, biochemistry simulations, weather and climate modeling, signal processing, computational finance, CAE, CFD, and data analysis. Based on the massively parallel CUDA GPU computing architecture, key capabilities of the vCORE Express 2090 include:
- 2048 computing cores for accelerated scientific computations (512 cores per GPU)
- 2.6 teraFLOPS for twice the precision performance (665 gigaFLOPS per GPU)
- ECC memory for uncompromised accuracy and reliability
- An L1/L2 cache for improved bandwidth and data sharing
“The Tesla M2090 is the world’s fastest HPC processor, enabling application acceleration across a wide range of HPC segments,” said Sumit Gupta, Tesla product line manager at NVIDIA. “The vCORE Express 2090 is a computationally dense and power efficient solution that enables scientists and researchers to tackle important problems faster than ever before.”
The vCORE Express 2090 is designed especially for parallel computing applications using NVIDIA Tesla 20-Series GPUs in cluster and datacenter deployments. The system features four massively parallel CUDA-enabled Tesla M2090 GPUs in a 1U chassis. The vCORE Express 2090 continues to bring economies of scale to GPU customers by delivering the same performance of a traditional CPU-based cluster—all at one-tenth the cost of traditional multi-core CPU clusters and one-twentieth the power consumption.
“As always, our goal is to deliver the highest performance I/O solutions to our partners and customers. Adding the vCORE Express 2090 GPU system to our product family provides enterprise and academic customers with the industry’s highest performing GPU solution,” said Mike Heumann, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, NextIO. “Customers can now harness the power of the industry’s fastest parallel processors to perform critical research and analysis that could have a positive, lasting impact on the way we live.”
