Oclaro Showcases New High-Speed Networking Products at ECOC; Executives Speak on Three Panels

Oclaro announced that it will be speaking on several panels at ECOC and showcasing the new high-speed networking products that the company unveiled earlier this week. With a focus on delivering innovative technologies for the core optical network, Oclaro's ECOC announcements include the volume shipment of 40 Gbps coherent modules; a new 100 Gbps receiver, two new high-performance 980nm pump lasers and a zero-chirp tunable XFP transceiver. ECOC show attendees can preview these new products in the Oclaro booths #1368 & 1370.

"Oclaro has the largest portfolio of components and subsystems designed specifically for the core optical network and our new products further strengthen this leadership position," said Yves Le Maitre, Chief Commercial Officer at Oclaro. "As a result, we are in a unique position to help customers build a coherent optical network that can meet the bandwidth demands today and in the future."

Oclaro has a history of delivering innovation into the core optical network and the company's ECOC announcements demonstrate this continued effort and technology leadership. Through the company's broad portfolio of optical components and subsystems, Oclaro is meeting service provider needs for increased bandwidth, rapid provisioning of new services, low latency, high reliability and smaller form factors. By solving these issues, Oclaro is enabling service providers to deliver the bandwidth and reliability that consumers are demanding from their networks. This is particularly important in today's environment where bandwidth-intensive applications such as cloud computing, video streaming, file transfer and online gaming are placing major demands on the entire core network.

Below are links to each of the ECOC-related press releases that Oclaro announced earlier this week:

1. Oclaro Adds New 100 Gbps Coherent Receivers to Its High-Speed Networking Portfolio

2. Oclaro Strengthens Coherent Portfolio with Volume Shipments of its 40 Gbps Coherent Modules

3. Oclaro Unveils Two New High-Power 980nm Pump Lasers that Deliver Smaller Foot Print and Higher Output Power

4. Oclaro Launches High Performance Zero-Chirp Tunable XFP

In addition, Oclaro has begun sampling high port count wavelength selective switches (WSS) that are critical for improving the economic efficiency of next generation core networks. The company has been a leading supplier of lower port WSS switches and these higher port versions enable multi-degree ROADM nodes with a high percentage of add/drop ports, which are a key element in future meshed networks architectures. Oclaro's combination of 1-axis MEMS plus liquid crystal core technologies is ideally suited to scaling to high port counts without compromising optical performance.
